How I start a project and what you can expect when working with me

1. Getting started – research & preparation

Every project starts with understanding the story behind it. Before I even pick up my camera, I like to learn about the client, the setting, and the purpose of the shoot. What do we want people to feel when they see the images?

From there, I dive into research, gathering references, creating a small moodboard, and visualizing the atmosphere and tone we’re aiming for. This part helps me align creativity with purpose right from the start. Sometimes the client already prepared a moodboard, that helps speed up the process.

2. From idea to plan – the pre-shoot phase

Once the direction is clear, I think practically: which lenses, lighting setups and gear will bring the vision to life? Whether it’s a documentary shoot with minimal gear or a styled branding session with flash, I like to plan efficiently while staying flexible for what happens on set.

At this stage, I always have a short call or meeting with the client to make sure expectations are clear, about the style, deliverables and timeline. That way, everyone knows what to expect on the day itself.

3. The shoot – bringing it all together

This is where the preparation pays off. On shoot day, I like to create a calm and open atmosphere so people feel comfortable and natural in front of the camera. I balance direction and spontaneity, making sure we capture what we planned plus a few unplanned gems along the way.

4. Post-production – editing & delivery

After the shoot, I make a first selection of images and start the editing process. My editing style is natural yet refined, enhancing light, colour and mood without losing the authenticity of the moment.

Depending on the project, I can deliver everything within a few days when needed. The final images are always shared in a clean, easy-to-use gallery, ready for download and publication.

5. The result – visual stories that stay with you

Each project ends with images that not only meet the brief but also carry a bit of my signature: warm tones, real emotion and thoughtful composition. I love when clients tell me the photos feel alive, that’s exactly what I aim for every time.
